Sometimes, when you use your computer to connect to the internet, but it does not allow you to access any website and giving you an error message like DNS server is not responding, then I would suggest to replace your current DNS address to OpenDNS or Google’s DNS.
By default, your computer will use the default DNS address from the ISP, in case you did not config dynamic DNS address. And while you are using the internet, the default DNS have timed out, then you are not able to use the internet anymore. The best solution in this case is to switch your default DNS to Google’s DNS or OpenDNS to solve the DNS server not responding error on your Windows computer. You can use following DNS address to config on your network adapter:
- Google’s DNS: 184.108.40.206 – 220.127.116.11
- OpenDNS: 18.104.22.168 – 22.214.171.124
However, sometimes, the problem is not from DNS address, it would be coming from your cache on the computer. In this case, you should clear / flush the DNS cache and the problem will be solved. You can also use Network Diagnose Tool to automatically detect and repair your network settings.
